Mariko Willis

Prior to joining Willis Law, Mariko spent eight years in the United States Marine Corps. She also serves on the Board of Directors as the Chief Operations Officer for the Corporal Christopher Kelly Willis Foundation. Mariko is furthering her education in Business Management and Human Resources and plans to attend Law School in the near future. She is also a Notary Public in the State of Michigan.

Mariko also serves as the Chief Operations Officer for the Corporal Christopher Kelly Willis Foundation. Mariko joined the United States Marine Corps in 2003. In boot camp, Sergeant Willis held the billet as Guide, and completed her training as a 1st Squad leader. She attended MCT in North Carolina and received Meritorious Mast for being in the top 5% of Marines while in combat training. Mariko was stationed in Battle Creek 6th ESB, the same unit as Christopher.

While serving with ESC/6th ESB, in addition to her primary MOS as a Hygiene Equipment and also attended the Career Retention Specialist School at MCRD, San Diego, California, and served as the Career Planner for Engineer Support Company, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th MLG in Battle Creek, Michigan.

In 2007 Mariko was activated in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, deploying overseas with Command Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa in Djibouti, Africa. Mariko served with the 8th Provisional Security Company, Alpha Company, 1st Platoon, 3rd Squad, 1st Fire Team Leader. Mariko reenlisted in the Marine Corps in 2014.

Mariko has one son, Tyson, who is her pride and joy. In her spare time, Mariko enjoys reading, fishing, shooting/marksmanship, running, cycling, golfing and spending quality time with her son.

Mariko is a member of the Kalamazoo Rod and Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association.
