In some situations, going to court may not be the best way to solve a legal dispute, instead arbitration could be a more beneficial alternative. Arbitration can enable both parties to find a resolution more quickly and cost effectively, without losing some of the more important aspects of a court resolution.

Understanding How Arbitration Works

Arbitration is an alternative to court, where people may resolve their legal issues in a less formal setting. Rather than a jury and judge, arbitration will have a person or panel to listen to all sides of the issue, reviewing evidence, and reaching a decision. Both parties will typically have individual attorneys to represent their best interests before the panel or single evaluator in arbitration.

Types of Arbitration

Depending on the type of arbitration, the decision can be binding, meaning it must be followed once decided, or non-binding. In a non-binding arbitration, both parties must accept the decision, and move forward from there to see the pronouncement implemented.

Choose Willis Law

Often times, the same legal skills needed in the courtroom carry over to arbitration cases, which is why it is crucial to have an experienced attorney to represent you. Not only will our lawyers advise you and provide legal counsel during arbitration, we will also use our many resources and abilities to apply the same efforts in arbitration we would in a courtroom. We will research and investigate the factors in your legal issue, examine witnesses and defend your interests.

Contact Willis Law to discuss your case, and see if arbitration may be a better alternative to litigation.
